This seminar is for aspiring or current Dachshund judges and anyone who breeds Dachshunds.

Yelvertoft Village Hall, Stanford Road, Yelvertoft, Northampton NN6 6LJ

(10 minutes from M1, J18)

£25 per person inclusive of tea/coffee, lunch, and seminar handouts.

Programme

09:30 Coffee/Tea/Welcome

10:00 Breed Appreciation Day (BAD) – Helen Kerfoot will talk on the Dachshund breed standard.

After this talk, there will be an opportunity for those who meet the required criteria to sit the breed Multiple Choice Exam (MCE). To do this, you must have:

  • Minimum of five years proven interest in pedigree dogs
  • Attended a requirements of a dog show judge seminar (but not mandatory to take and pass examination)
  • Attended a conformation and movement seminar
  • Completed a minimum of two full-day stewarding appointments

12:30 Lunch

13:30 Dachshund coats and colours – Helen Kerfoot will talk about the genetics of dachshund coats and colours. This is an essential talk for all Dachshund breeders.

Informal hands-on session – an opportunity to go over examples of the breed with help from experienced dachshund judges.

Finish 15:30

Certificates of attendance will be issued to everyone for the BAD. Those who pass the MCE will also receive a certificate.

Due to the latest Government restrictions, it has been decided that we are not able to hold the AGM as planned at Roecroft Centre.
It will be held as a Zoom meeting instead. If you wish to attend, please email the Secretary.
An email has been sent to all members for whom we have email address.
AGM minutes will be available on the website after the meeting.

The ECDA Breed Appreciation Day (BAD), Multiple Choice Exam (MCE) & A2 Assessment Sunday 24th March 2019

The Eastern Counties Dachshund Association will be holding a Breed Appreciation Day on Sunday 24th March 2019.
The Seminar aims to provide an opportunity to learn about Dachshunds, whatever your current knowledge and experience. The speaker will be Miss Helen Geeson who will talk about the Breed Standard.
For those who wish to take a written exam (MCE) and A2 Assessment there will be an opportunity to do so. The assessments will take place in the afternoon.
All participants can choose to sit the Multiple Choice Exam Paper which forms part of the A2 approval criteria. The Written Paper will be available during the afternoon and there is a Pass Mark of 80%.
The venue is Roade Village Hall, Bailey Brooks Lane, Roade NN7 2LS
Lunches, plus morning and afternoon refreshments, are included in the ticket prices which are:
£15 Breed Talk & Lunch
£20 Breed Talk, Multiple Choice Exam & Lunch
£25 Full Day & Lunch
The Seminar starts at 10:00, with coffee being served from 09:30.
Send a cheque, payable to ECDA. (Confirmation will be e-mailed to you, with full information about the day sent nearer the time).
